Looking for a cool location for your next portrait shoot while in Japan? This might not sound like your typical photoshoot location, however Anata No Warehouse (translated to English as Your Warehouse) will certainly not disappoint. Located near Kawasaki station (which is also one short train ride away from central Tokyo), Anata no Warehouse is one of the spookiest and craziest arcade houses in the world! Once you walk in, you will be surprised by the awesome things you will find inside.
This arcade house is also very photogenic. It is themed after the former Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong. The decor is designed to look worn down and vintage like the mysterious Kowloon Walled City. If you are into video games, retro vibes and photography you should definitely make a trip to the Kawasaki Warehouse…and Hong Kong!
Anata No Warehouse is a great photoshoot place, however, there are a few things to be “careful” about: 1) you must be at least 18 years old to enter there and 2) you must sneak in a camera, as professional cameras are not officially allowed.
When I went, I managed to hide the camera under a jacket (even if you are caught with a camera, you don’t get a fine, the staff will just ban you to take pictures). This arcade house is definitely an awesome location for a Halloween-themed photoshoot where you can pose in your favourite cosplay.
Here are some of the portrait shots I took in collaboration with photographer Hiroto IIzawa (check out his awesome work ).
For this photoshoot I opted for a urban and cool look, combining a pair of black, baggy cargo pants, a Calvin Klein sports bralette and a simple bomber jacket. If you wish to try a similar outfit, here are my recommendations:
Bomber jacket from H&M; Price: 3,500 JPY; Shop here.
Calvin Klein Statement bralette; Price: 3,000 JPY; Shop here.
Missguided plain cargo trousers; Price: 4,500 JPY; Shop here.
